It's been one year since this all began, well we all know it started before. But I'm sure we've all been on such a painful rollercoaster this year and have felt the sufferings of our ummah deeply.

Sometimes when the kids are not around there'll be one image or video or testimony that will hit me hard (they all do tbh) that will make me cry.

There'll be times when in all the chaos that a house full of arguing kids bring, I sit back and say Alhamdulillah for these times and be grateful and appreciate what I have, what these kids have.

I can't get over seeing the images of Shaaban. It's really affecting me. And it wasn't just him but his mother too.

We found out today that one of our friends died. We found him, though. And they can't hurt him anymore. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un. Going to go into cheery mum mode for bathtime and bed, then eat a ton of ice cream and cry.

If it is of any comfort, a wise person once shared these beautiful words of solace with me. She said just imagine that we are all in little boats headed to one destination, some boats reach quicker than others but eventually we will all reach there and our loved ones who reached earlier will be waiting for us. May we all be reunited with our loved ones in the hearafter inshAllah Ameen. May Allah grant you and us all patience in the tests of this world Ameen.

Thank you. At least now we know he isn't being tortured in prison and his body won't be shipped back to Gaza in an anonymous pile in a truck. They can't hurt him anymore. He's been at peace for a while; we just didn't know.

This whole year has been very strange. I was heavily pregnant this time last year and it was a struggle. Just seeing those poor women having to move their whole lives when as a pregnant woman you just want to be in one place and get prepped it broke my heart.

Then I had an emergency section, hearing of women having one without anaethetic and clean instruments or even a proper health care provider. Just more grief.

Finally my baby was in nicu when they wanted to evacuate the hospitals and the generators had no power.

Sadness, grief, frustration nothing describes my feelings adequately.

Alhamdulilah we had access to everything. It was more being conscious of what others didn’t have at that same time.

May Allaah swt grant them all highest jannah and grant their families and loved ones solace and ease their grief ameen.

Eye opening to see whats going on and how people react to it. Its almost like a clear line of people who support evil and those who don't.

Allahualim seems like so much injustice and corruption all over at the moment. Reading tafseer really helps me. Also Reading about the signs of the end of times. Trust in Allaah swt and alhumdullilah in all situations.

That's the beauty of being part of one ummah. When one part is in pain the whole body is in pain. Look after yourself though sister, hope your little one is better now.

I see you a lot in the threads about Gaza, you have the patience of a saint and you get your point across so eloquently. I try but I get too mad too quickly. The double standards kill me.

@OhMaria2 I'm glad you've found this thread and you're more than welcome here :) I was going to create this thread in the CITME board but I feared it would have been derailed by some and our feelings would have been minimised.
