Does anyone else listen to metal to de-stress?

I am starting to wonder if I am totally mad But I can't be the only one.

When I am really stressed I stick on a metal album - the screamier, the better - and it just seems to melt it all away. Listening on headphones is even better for some reason - something about the lack of background noise I think.

I like rock but I don't listen to a lot of metal otherwise.

Please tell me someone else does this?

I like metal, but when I'm in a really narky mood, I go beyond my normal taste and it really helps. Rammstein is good for me

A bit of metal can be a good anger release. The louder the better.

have to say Low by David Bowie is also good, no idea why.

Ooh ooh me me!

I used to be in complete bliss listening to the likes of Sepultura, Pantera, Slipknot and Machine Head on the daily commute into London and back.

It definately calms me

Yes, Guns and Roses on full volume in the car on commute to and from work used to work wonders for me. Very freeing being able to yell along to all thos swearwords!!! Don't get chance to do it much nowadays as I'm usually accompanied by a 3yo, and not sure I'm ready for some of those words to be learnt....

Bossa nova calms me the best .

I've recently got into Nightwish as they are very interesting. I must say they were better with Tarja Turunen as the singer. She was very flambouyant!

Yes I do.

I love Korn Slipknot Metallica NIN (although not metal) as well as some calmer stuff such as CKY, Janes Addiction.

I have this stuff on as normal and didn't think twice about it until one day a mum of DS's friend was round and the music is on the iPOD and she said 'Upahill! Don't you find this music so, so ....... agressive?'

We both looked at each other puzzled. I wondered what the hell she was on about and she looked at me as if I was deranged

I listen to rock/metal before I go to sleep.

Soothes the brain!
