As above really. What three songs/pieces of music always make you smile/laugh/cry and you think you'll continue playing for the rest of your life?

three of my all-time favourites are:

What if You by Joshua Radin

Keep Breathing by Ingrid Michaelson

and the Gladiator theme tune

Post YouTube links so we can all enjoy them...

Just 3 ? fuck

em
these are the first 3 I thought of but I already want to change all 3 of them and instantly I also want to change the new 3 I just picked.
3 is far too little.

Don't look back into the sun - the libertines

Hallelujah - Jeff Buckley

Queen - Don't stop me now

(but I've already got about 50 others lined up)

BigGitDad · 06/05/2010 21:35

JollyPirate, funny how you had Supertramp.
Mine are (sort of);
Lord is it mine (Supertramp)
Bad (U2)
Cocaine Blues (Johnny Cash live at Folsom Prison)
Tough call though.

Cure: Love Song
Elvis: In the ghetto
Suzanne Vega: Luka

purepurple · 08/05/2010 09:53

My favourite 3 songs are

Simon and Garfunkel The Boxer
Velvet Underground Venus in Furs
Rolling Stones Paint it Black
I love these songs and they have made me into the person I am today

belgo · 08/05/2010 10:06

I have no idea where to start! There is no way I can choose three songs. JayZ's Numb and Radiohead's Creep and Massive Attack would make it high up my list but I'm not sure if any of them would reach the top three.

Kelis's Acapella and Lil Star would also feature high.

Perhaps we should have a classical version of this thread?

On my list would go:
Elgar's Cello concerto
Elgar's Nimrod
and
Concierto De Aranjuez

juststrudel · 08/05/2010 11:10

No Suprises - Radiohead
Your song - Elton John
Ermm something by Bowie, Beatles, can't choose and it changes daily..

Classical choices are much easier to choose:

I second Elgar's Nimrod
The beautiful aria in Madame Butterfly - sorry don't know what it's called.
Beethoven's Choral Symphony

belgo · 08/05/2010 11:15

you mean this juststrudel;

juststrudel · 08/05/2010 16:38

Yes I do thanks for searching Belgo. Just listened - the hairs on the back of my neck are standing up!
