Mine is Elvis Costello's cover of She.

Although I am NOT a fan of Notting Hill, whenever its on I have to watch the last 5 minutes, to see the bit where Hugh is reading a book in the garden square and Julia Roberts is lying on the bench, pregnant. I always cry and I hate myself a little bit for it [ashamed emoticon].

I reckon I would too, Hester. Now I wonder what my chances are?

Another fine soppy song = Summer Breeze by the Isley Brothers

and

more or less anything by Al Green

I know it's a song about sexual love but for me 'I don't want to miss a thing' by Aerosmith completely sums up the love I have for my 4.

Completely takes me back to bf-ing and co-sleeping, just lying there and watching the little bundles.

Have driven down many a motorway completely weeping listening to it. Truck drivers very

Nakes me cry every time. No choice.

HesterPrynne · 02/02/2010 23:31

Grey or not, as soon as he smiles I'm 14 again and of course Hold Me Close is his best, although I'm quite fond of his Evita stuff

Gulf Coast Highway - Kate Rusby

...will dissolve you by the fourth line!

Monty100 · 03/02/2010 00:32

Sinead O'Connor - Nothing Compares

Was poignant in my life at the time. Gets me every time to this day. As does

Bryan Adam - Everything I do

Wet Wet Wet - can't remember the title lolol

Have loads of others, but that's the first that springs to mind.

I'm not mush in rl so I hope this doesn't out me.

MattBellamysMuse · 03/02/2010 00:32

Unintended by Muse or The Bones of You by Elbow. Both beautiful songs.

Monty100 · 03/02/2010 00:33

Any Eagles.............

They were fun days

LittlePushka · 03/02/2010 00:35

LOL at Monty welding on an oilrig/lumberjacking or similar, dewy eyed whilst whistling "..and there's no lurve, like your lurve..."

MattBellamysMuse · 03/02/2010 00:36

I second The Power of Love by Frankie Goes To Hollywood. Love that song.

shockers · 03/02/2010 00:38

When I was just DS2's foster mum and had fallen for him hopelessly, I used to sing "Don't Want to Miss a Thing" by Aerosmith to him as I rocked him to sleep as a baby and imagined what he would be like at 2/5/9/11/15/21....

He's 9 now...

Monty100 · 03/02/2010 00:45

LittlePushka - I'm often dewey eyed, but nobody knows it but me. That's the one, that Wet Wet Wet one. lol

Shockers - Awww

LittlePushka · 03/02/2010 01:00

Shockers...lump in Puskas throat , gulp!

But LOL at you screeching at him for various teenage type infringements in just FOUR years time,...very like your song at the end where the singer loses control ofhis mind and voicebox simultaneously (you know the bit... )

shockers · 03/02/2010 08:41

Hehe.. he had to be at school for 8am this morning to go to a football tournament... by 7.30 you wouldn't have been able to tell myself and Steve Tyler apart

BelleDameSansMerci · 03/02/2010 08:47

"Someone Like You" - Van Morrison

And for those David Essex lovers out there, I should add that I used to work in an office in Paddington that overlooked his mews house so we would often see him coming and going. It was about 20 years ago though!

He was gorgeous when he was young, though, wasn't he?

I was a little too young, I think, and was more of a David Cassidy fan.

MoChan · 03/02/2010 09:11

That song off 'Toy Story 2' - 'When somebody loved me...' - nearly always makes me cry.

And I really like 'Honey and The Moon' by Joseph Arthur.

Bobbiewickham · 03/02/2010 09:16

Oh god, Feels Like Home by Randy Newman. Can't get past the second line...

OrientCalf · 03/02/2010 09:26

Ben Folds 'THe Luckiest' - sop-fest

Monty100 · 03/02/2010 10:00

Ooooh Belle and Van Morrison - Have I Told you Lately that I Love You?

Awww (exh used to sing that to me - snurk).

Run reminds me of my mum, when she was ill, and after she passed away. All mixed up with having my baby. It always makes me cry. Even without a glass of port!

but, to be honest, any snow patrol. His voice gets to me.

Air that I breathe by The Hollies

and

Somewhere over the rainbow

Last one particularly reminds me of a friend dying - makes me cry every time .
