Yes it seems like a good compromise to me. I was pleased the Rage campaign got the Xmas no 1 but it seemed a shame to make Joe the butt of criticism rather than Simon Cowell and that was what seemed to be happening in some quarters of the media. He can only work with that he's given, and it was a terrible song choice.
