So you know those old compilation tapes that friends made for you, back in the day...

Well, what do you do with them now? I can't bear to throw mine out, but casette players are pretty much obsolete now.

Do you still keep yours for sentimental reasons?

My credentials are shot to hell. I know NOTHING.
Still haven't forgiven DS1, though.

BigGitDad · 15/09/2009 22:54

I could get free spotify, you have to be invited or something.

BigGitDad · 15/09/2009 22:56

'could not' I mean

ravenAK · 15/09/2009 22:59

Mine had a swansong when we bought a van with ye olde cassette player.

Cue me rubbing my hands as I lugged a big box of tapes into van before we embarked on 5 hour journey to parents' house...

...& 90% of tapes deposited in service station bins as they turned out to have not liked 10 years in a garage very much.

Ds is now a passionate fan of Ghostdance, The Ramones & Fields of the Nephilim, though, so it was an educational experience.

Don't think you have to be invited for Spotify. You just need to register.

BigGitDad · 15/09/2009 23:07

but there is a waiting list isn' there?

JustCutAndPaste · 15/09/2009 23:10

Fields of the Nephilim... now that's a name guaranteed to make me think of one particular ex-boyfriend.

Dp and I have just filled in a 'couples' questionnaire (for a relationship course). One of the questions was about what pieces of music mean something special to your partner, and why. Dp didn't know I had any special music. But there are loads of tracks that remind me of particular people or events in my life. I just haven't pointed them out to him.

Oh, I didn't realise. We've had it for a while now. Guess it may have become too popular or something then.

You can pay £9, that means you don't get annoying ads in the middle of an album you have not heard for years.

Good job you've got tapes, CDs and the radio then, eh?!

WowOoo · 15/09/2009 23:13

I'm referring to Spotify waiting list in my last post!
