God only knows by the Beach Boys?

Back in the USSR always makes me laugh because it is so cleverly taking the p* out of the Beach Boys.

i thought this was going to be about bridge over troubled water.

i remember reading that pm thought that he should have written this song as it was so great and went on to write hey jude instead (hoping it may be a better song or something?)

that might all be crap though, i may have dreamed it.

it is by far the most romatic beautiful song ever and I weep like a baby when I hear it. he is spot on. love paul x

I don't know if it's the best song, but for me it is up there. I cry whenever I hear it.

It was the first day of my maternity leave with dc1 and I was sitting on my living room floor sorting out my leaving cards and presents from work, and listening to The Beach Boys greatest hits.

God Only Knows started to play and I started to realise what an enormous change was going to happen in my life in the next few weeks and how much I was in love with my dh.

I cried like a baby and whenever I hear the song now it takes me right back to the moment.

god only knows is one of the beach boys' most beautiful songs, along with til i die and surf's up.

dennis wilson's lady is also pretty wonderful.

Popular music not my forte but, while God Only Knows is lovely, I prefer Stardust, particularly sung by Nat King Cole.
