beanie: peter broderick does a nice cover of roscoe, but i can't find it on youtube. have you heard it?

Boco · 27/03/2009 21:35

MM I hadn't realised you were MAS! Or did I forget. Your photos are lovely - I live nearish snape - you're not round here are you?

beanieb · 27/03/2009 22:02

Am sure I have posted this or maybe someone already has on the thread, but worth a listen for fleet foxes fans.

beanieb · 27/03/2009 22:04

"beanie: peter broderick does a nice cover of roscoe, but i can't find it on youtube. have you heard it?" no, but that's lovely. I really really love it. Is there an album puts it on Birthday list THANK YOU!

beanieb · 27/03/2009 22:11

Have tried Spotify but not on there. will hunt it down.

flippineck · 27/03/2009 22:38

Love FF, but love Midlake more. 'The Trials...' was on repeat when I was in labout with DD, she was nearly called something more productive, like Roscoe....

RaggedRobin · 27/03/2009 22:49

glad to reciprocate then, cos i really loved that first aid kit cover you put up on that other thread!

"not at home" is on his lp "home" and the roscoe cover is on a wee 7", so i'm not sure if it's still available. you can listen to a bit of it on the boomkat website but it has a couple of bloops in it to prevent copying, i'm afraid!

beanieb · 27/03/2009 22:54

"she was nearly called something more productive, like Roscoe..."

blimey it's great to talk to people who get midlake I love them so much.

beanieb · 27/03/2009 22:59

Anyone like bon Iver? I liked what I read about the album so bought it, but it never really stuck, though I did like the last single.

beanieb · 27/03/2009 23:01

oh and - sorry to go on, but band of horses?

RaggedRobin · 27/03/2009 23:02

was given "for emma..." for christmas, but snap! again, i've only listened to it a few times and it didn't hook me.

RaggedRobin · 27/03/2009 23:08

since we're on a hijacking roll, my current favourite lp is checkmate savage by the phantom band.

beanieb · 27/03/2009 23:09

hey, we're not hijacking, we're exchanging stuff we know eachother will like!

Heathcliffscathy · 28/03/2009 15:32

i don't really get boniver either although have to confess to having never given it a shot...

my taste is eclective to say the least. the thing i'm playing the most at the moment is a song i heard a snatch of on our 'the wire' dvd called ruler of my heart by irma thomas. check it out it is gorgeous.

Heathcliffscathy · 28/03/2009 15:32

did i just say eclective? eclectic i mean.

Heathcliffscathy · 28/03/2009 15:32

i'm sounding like george bush!

Boco · 28/03/2009 16:14

I too am pretty darn eclectivational. But do like Bon Iver.

What about Sufjan Stevens?

MargaretMountford · 29/03/2009 08:38

I do quite like Sufjan Stevens !

MargaretMountford · 29/03/2009 15:17

thing on Fleet Foxes in today's Sunday Times Culture section

totalmisfit · 30/03/2009 15:23

no, their best song is Tiger Mountain Peasant song which is coincidentally the best song of all time and has been going round my head all weekend

RaggedRobin · 30/03/2009 20:42

total, did you follow the link that beanieb posted at the top of this page? it's an ace wee cover of tiger mountain peasant song by a couple of swedish sisters.

totalmisfit · 01/04/2009 16:16

no, i'm rubbish at reading threads properly

but i have seen that one before, it's very good indeed.
