Can you play mp3 tracks onto an ipod?

I am just setting up my pressie but have no i tunes. Will it play mp3's?

no you will have to download itunes and then import music into it into itues before transferring it to the ipod.

,you can download itunes from the apple site and you can import any music that is o your computer into itunes which will convert it to the format for your ipod ,so no you dont need to buy anything from itunes and yes itunes will convert mp3 tracks,hope this helps.

thank you thats what I need to know! Phew! I have hundreds of mp3 tracks on my pc DH would have gone ballastic if I started buying other things, honestly most of them were only about 40p each or something.

If your PC files eg those from CDs are in mp3 format then your Itunes and Ipod will play them, it won't need to convert them. It won't play Windows Media Audio files.

thanks I have it working now. only a couple of files were wma files.
