Need suggestions for a flute piece to play please!

Hello! I have been asked to play a flute piece in church for a service/concert in a couple of weeks. The congregation will be mainly older people and the suggestion was "something lullaby-ish". I don't have any flute music, only stuff I did for grades in my youth, but would really appreciate a recommendation. Last year I played a piece from The Messiah, which was picked by the accompanist (big church organ to accompany) but she's on holiday until a couple of days before the concert.
Somebody has lent me The Holy Boy which is a Galway arrangement, but I'm not keen on it at all, and had envisaged playing something more classical again.
Any suggestions gratefully received!

Is this going to be accompanied? If so by organ or piano?

Bramshott · 05/12/2008 14:34

Syrinx by Debussy is a lovely unnaccompanied piece.

Will be accompanied by church organ (pipe one). Thanks for your thoughts - I'll check back later, got to go to school now and man Christmas Fair stall.

What about the Sheep may safely graze (from Bach cantata)? People love that, it's sort of lullaby-ish and it would work well for flute and organ. I'm sure there are arrangements of it for solo flute out there.

Dance of the Blessed Spirits by Gluck is amazing on organ and flute.
