Please help me find some new music - I haven't got into any new bands / artists in ages !!!

I love all types of music but everything seems so bland lately. I love music with that extra something so for example amazing guitar riffs, a fabulous voice or just something bouncy and feel good (not happy hardcore lol)

I love Metallica, Basement Jaxx, Morcheeba, 90's trance music, Beverley Knight, Hard Fi, Daughtry, Prodigy, Maximo Park, Linkin Park Arctic Monkeys, Guns N Roses, Anastacia to name but a few.

Does anyone have any ideas of new stuff I might like as it seems like so long since I have discovered anything new and exciting

Metallica's new album is great, its like a blend of master of puppets & and justice for all.

Dragonforce are great too :-)

Contrary to popular belief, avenged sevenfold are quite good too.

Remember, youtube is your friend for sampling new music, I always use it before shelling out on a new CD!

to name but a few. Try googling them and have a listen on their websites. I hope some are new to you. Let me know if they're any good to you, I can recommend more.

Try Elbow. They just won the Mercury Prize (very deservedly) and are truly wonderful.

I have been using last fm to try and find new stuff.

If you give them an artist, they will play a selection of similar stuff. You can skip stuff if you don't like it, or buy it if you do...

Well I have been giving some of these a listen and am just wondering how on earth I missed Elbow. They are amazing!!!

I already love Paulo Nutini and am definitely gonna have to get the new Metallica album. I think the rest are definitely growers too.
