Just checked, actually only born in Paris and grew up there, both parents were Spanish!

I think he's gone off the boil a bit, but I loved the Amadou and Mariam album he produced a couple of years back.

Ooh, I always forget that you can now find almost anything on line from your past, is anyone else old enough to remember Telephone? They were brilliantor Noir Desir?

Dimanche a Bamako? Loved it too.

Agree he was even better in Mano Negra.

Anyone mentioned those loveable Negresses Vertes yet?

Marina · 15/07/2008 09:44

Ahem, check out my link further down madamez. Loved Telephone!

Noir Desir and les Negresses Vertes were HUGE...

Marina, whoops, sorry, hadn't read all the links. Sadly there doesn't seem to be anything from Au Coeur De La Nuit on line yet - that was my favourite album.

There was a comp on EMI last year called Belle Epoque, which compiled loads of Frnach ye-ye singers from the 60s. Worth getting. And Jacques Dutronc's 60s stuff is great.
