dd is going to Beautiful Days next month -starts the day after A level results are published, so I hope she gets her grades if she's going to disappear for the weekend.

filthymindedvixen · 07/07/2008 20:42

Rusty - Beautiful Days is the best festival ever - she will have a blast! Er, she may well never come back
Has she been before? I can give her the lowdown if she wants....
(This is the first year in 5 we haven't gone, due to skintness), so we are doing this gig instead!)

No she hsn't been before, though she's been to Reading for the last couple of years (but we only live a few miles from Reading)
I'm sure she'd appreciate any tips...

filthymindedvixen · 07/07/2008 21:05

ok, top tip - take a fold-up wheelbarrow or trolley thingy as you have to walk for a fair bit up and down hills to camping area (Unless she goes in the family field, but she will get shouted at if she is still partying at 4am )

And everyone dresses up (from ballgowns to Inflatable bananas) on Sat night. everyone.

And the Pussy Parlure is great, mad fun and The Bimble Inn is lovely. And the dance tent is where all the young folk will be after the music finishes.

I'm horribly

oh, and the Levellers usually do an acoustic set in the little big top at 6pm on the Friday which is an awesome, intimate gig experience

wardrobemistress · 08/07/2008 17:27

I still have the photo somewhere... FilthyFootedHippy!
We will miss you and your fellas like mad this year.

filthymindedvixen · 08/07/2008 18:12

I wondered how long it would be before I could tempt you out of hiding

We are gutted not to be going to BD, but this is the next best thing...Chumbawumba, Seth Lakeman, 3 Daft Monkeys, Dreadzone (ahoyy!) and...the Levs.

And the forecast is v rainy, as usual so I may well be filthyfootedvixen again.....

We will miss you too, and your beautiful big brood of boys!

I have been listening to Seth for 72 hours straight now,his new album is much rock-ier I think.
Underated,Booty Daze all sold out now,but you might get something on ebay nearer the time.

wardrobemistress · 08/07/2008 18:26

and I wanted you to teach me how to roll fags this year too.

filthymindedvixen · 08/07/2008 18:26

We had a drunken cider-fuelled evening a couple of months ago with some friends and watched chaos theory and were dancing like idots to Dirty Davey...thought of you tooo...

BTW, our canal boat name shortlist included The Beautiful Day, Dirty Davey

and is now going to be The Boatman's Song

wardrobemistress · 08/07/2008 18:28

not wailing at your boat names btw.
Wait a minute! You have bought a boat????

UnderRated · 08/07/2008 18:33

If it weren't so far, I'd be there They don't seem to come to my neck of the woods very often!

filthymindedvixen · 08/07/2008 18:33

erm, actually, aquired one....

DH left his job in Jan and as there was no money for redundancy, his partner gave him his narrowboat. It's a shed from the outside but very cosy inside
