The Stones, Romford Odeon, mid 60s. Twice.
Supporting acts were the Hollies, Ike and Tina Turner (😮) and Dave Berry. I think. (It was a VERY long time ago), mid to late 60s.
Saw Marsha Hunt (who?) at Lancaster Uni, early 70s. Plus Pink Floyd, early 70s also at Lancaster. Well, I know i was there but I have absolutely no memory of it...

Well done your Mum!

I have absolutely no idea! 😀Seen a lot of bands, but no idea which serious one first. Probably someone at Cambridge Corn Exchange; Wishbone Ash, Hawkwind, the Groundhogs, someone like that.

If you don’t count meeting random boy bands in nightclubs in my mid teens then it was Stereophonics in Aberdeen in 1998 when I was 17.

Sadly I only went because my friend had died a couple of months beforehand and our other friends said she wouldn’t have wanted the ticket to go to waste. It was an amazing gig but yeah kinda bittersweet for me. She really would have loved it.

Chickchickchickens · 16/01/2026 03:21

The first (and only) Rock on the Tyne, Gateshead 1981, day one a small band U2 were playing but I loved Ginger Bakers Nutters and Diamondhead on day 2.

Then Rush, Edinburgh in a cattle shed.

northshore · 16/01/2026 03:59

Elton John at Sheffield City Hall in...er...1976? Went on my own.
Last was Wolf Alice, previous Stevie Wonder. Very eclectic musical taste in this house!

Bad Manners, Cheltenham 1980. Didn't make it inside as we were mugged by a Gloucester skinhead named Bernie who stole our tickets 🤷🏿‍♀️

NewGirlInTown · 07/02/2026 09:36
