I think it was Queen at Alexandra Palace. Or it could have been Judie Tzuke at the Cliffs Pavilion, Southend.

OllysArmyRidesAgain · 04/10/2025 14:47

Wham! 1984 'The Big Tour' I know that I didn't go with an adult and was only 16, must have had at least 1 friend with me, but I can't remember who, they would have been 15 or just 16 as I was the oldest of our group.

SabbatWheel · 04/10/2025 14:49

Marillion at the Hammersmith Odeon in about 1986/7

Oasis, Middlesbrough town hall, 1995 I think.

Town Hall doesn't seem to have any gigs these days. Did go to see Ross noble in
Pandemic times

Michael Jackson, the Dangerous world tour.

Seawolves · 04/10/2025 14:50

Meatloaf, Hammersmith Odeon in 1984.

YessicaHaircut · 04/10/2025 14:50

Menswear, in 1996, I was 13. My dad took me and my best mate Claire. It was in the local student union music venue and he sat at the bar while we went and pogoed around at the front. The band also did an album signing before the gig which we went to and I still have the signed (CD) album. They were all extremely polite as I remember and I was very starstruck!

chipsticksmammy · 04/10/2025 14:51

I try and be cool and say it was Beck at King Tuts in Glasgow, 1994.

However it was really Take That in 1993. We we spotted by Scottish TV News outside the venue when I should have been at school 😂

Just realised Nirvana would have been my 2nd gig.

OllysArmyRidesAgain · 04/10/2025 14:51

Would have liked to do Oasis at Knebworth in 1996 but DD came along instead.

Did go to Genesis there in 1992

ainsleysanob · 04/10/2025 14:52

Meatloaf in 1998/99 at Sheffield arena with my mum, dad and sister! It was amazing! I was 14!

sidebirds · 04/10/2025 14:53

Bad Manners, Cheltenham 1980. We were mugged for our tickets by skinheads and didn't get in 🤷🏾‍♀️

BlackKnightinYellowWellies · 04/10/2025 14:53

Jesus Jones at the UEA, I can't remember much about it.

MrsEMR · 04/10/2025 14:53

My first gig was Self Aid, at the RDS Dublin in 1986. The day was organised to highlight the massive unemployment issue in Ireland at the time.
This is a fraction of the bands who performed on the day.
The Boomtown Rats, Chris de Burgh, Elvis Costello, Rory Gallagher, Christy Moore, Van Morrison, The Pogues, Chris Rea, Thin Lizzy, U2
Started me off on a decade of attending gigs from the tiny Underground Bar to Croke Park & everywhere in between.

minimo15 · 04/10/2025 14:55

David Bowie at Lewisham Odeon 1974

foxychox · 04/10/2025 14:55

Japan at the Hammersmith Odeon in 1982 or 83, I was 14/15

YessicaHaircut · 04/10/2025 14:55

Just dug the CD out! Might give it a listen in a minute and feel like I’m 13 again.

TwistedWonder · 04/10/2025 14:56

Stevie Wonder at Wembley - 1980/81

Crushed23 · 04/10/2025 14:57

I honestly have no idea. It might have been Jimmy Eat World in Camden circa 2012.

I don’t really go to gigs anymore, only raves. I think my first rave was Hot Since 82 in Camden circa 2015.

Frankblackwife · 04/10/2025 14:58

Kinell forgot jimmyeatworld existed haha

OP posts:
forestaremagic · 04/10/2025 14:59

Nik Kershaw 1985

Frankblackwife · 04/10/2025 14:59

Would not have a clue what to do at a rave lol

Stranglers in 1981. I was 14. Home town used to have a brilliant live venue. All gone now sadly.
