U2, Milton Keynes Bowl in 1985. Supported by REM, The Ramones, Billy Bragg and Spear of Destiny. I was about 14 or 15.

Would not have a clue what to do at a rave lol

See I get pretty bored at regular gigs! It’s non-stop dancing for me at raves and the vibe is other worldly. That feeling when the beat DROPS 🤩 Met DP at a rave last year. 😁

Whereland · 04/10/2025 15:13

Craig David when I was 15, I cried 😂😂😂

Muse in Manchester, 2006 is the one I always say was the dullest gig ever 🤣

I couldn’t wait for it to finish, but DH LOVED it. I remember the sound being horrendous and a guitar being thrown.

StephenKingIsScaredOfMe · 04/10/2025 15:23

Shakin Steven's! 45 years ago and I can still remember the utter joy I felt there!!

StrangewaysHereWeCome · 04/10/2025 15:26

Radiohead, Brixton Academy, 1995, when I was 16. I remember they covered Nobody Does it Better, which feels a long way from where they are now.

TanteRose · 04/10/2025 15:26

A-ha, Guildhall Preston in 1987, later that year, I saw the Human League in their home town, Sheffield

Oh, no way. That would be a no.

I once watched an indie band play mandolins for 2 hours. Not good.

StrangewaysHereWeCome · 04/10/2025 15:30

@chipsticksmammyMy H and I saw Muse at Manchester Uni students union in about 2000. They were technically very good, but so very boring. I assumed they learned a bit of stagecraft as they got bigger, but it appears not!

Frankblackwife · 04/10/2025 15:31

Rush at Wembley shudder, went on for many many hours lol

Ned's Atomic Dustbin, Sheffield uni students' union, autumn 1990. DH (was boyfriend then, though we had bought our engagement rings that day) has a very eclectic taste in music. Now we have a bit more disposable income he goes to at least a couple of gigs a month. I go to some, but these days only if we get seats!
