Wanted to find out how your concert was! Did you go on Friday or Saturday? (think it was Emirates you went for). I heard he was fined £80,000 for overrunning on Friday. We went to OT on Wed and it was awesome, the best I've been to yet.

Why the name change fg???

Patti's back!!

northender · 21/07/2008 12:59

Hi fg would you believe me or feel better if I said it was awful and a waste of time and money?

However, I'm a terrible liar so............it was amazing! He didn't come on stage until 1020 and finished at 0120. Not only was Patti back but the whole family were on the stage for the extended version of Twist and Shout. Patti's vocals were very weak and she really seems to push Susie Tyrell into the periphery. She also waltzes round the stage like she owns it, didn't like that. Nils and Clarence were fab as ever. He did Backstreets and Jungleland, then spoiled it imho by doing Hungry Heart, Glory Days and Dancin in the Dark. The atmosphere is what makes it though and the Spanish crowd just seem to enjoy it more and are more excitable!

One bloke in the same hotel is off to NY next Saturday for 6 nights and 3 concerts. Do these people have a life outside of Bruce? I thought dh was pushing it going to 3 shows in a tour!

Btw How old are your dcs fg? There were quite a few young ones there. We may take ds (7) next year. Tis a long time for little ones though.

Sorry you didn't make it to another show

Rumours are of another album with the band in Dec so maybe another tour next year..................?

Oh that sounds ACE!!!! Glad you had a great time......I'm loving his 10.20pm show

My DC's are DD1 7.5 and DTs 3 (nearly 4). I took DD1 with me to see Bruce in Vancouver when she was 4. It was a totally crazy weekend. Our twins had only just turned 1 and I convinced myself I couldn't go all the way to London from Edinburgh to see Bruce!! Then, after that concert I was gutted and we joked with our friends in Vancouver that, if they could get us tickets for the last night of the tour, we'd go. They did!!!! We did!!!! Flew there and back in a weekend and they got DD1 a ticket too. It was the Devils & Dust tour. A quiet gig but he did lots of chatting which was just great. Jet lag took hold and she slept in my arms most of the night but it was great.

You were at the Manchester gig weren't you? When he did that song for the wee boy? Melted my heart. He gave his plectrum to a wee lad in Vancouver who was just astounded.

What a summer you've had!

My DP was so up for getting tickets for the NJ show......but I couldn't ask my parents to babysit. Felt too guilty. Never mind, December isn't too far off
