Bloody hell can't believe I missed the arrival of the much loved music.

What's the best and worst gig/s you have ever been to?

My best would be Frank black & the catholics shepherds bush 2003, the energy was amazing, I was so euphoric and dancing everywhere, the best night ever.

Polyphonic spree were also great, so much energy and such a big sound.

Dresden dolls 200?, made the hairs rise on the back of my neck, mesmerising.

Now worst

have to say that Rush wembley 2004, was the 3 longest hours of my life...including labour.

Jethro tull good god no (was dragged to these
by dp, wouldn't have gone if not desperate for a night out)

Radiohead Newcastle arena, soooo dull and lifeless and boring, I love radiohead but this gig sucked, probably something to do with the arena but it was just ANother gig.

So many good ones, Queen, Tom Petty, Eric Clapton, Chris Rea, Meatloaf, a recent gig with Kris Kristofferson.

Worst one, by a mile, Bob Dylan circa 1980's in his born-again Christian phase. It was desperate, not to say embarrassing.

Best - Bon Jovi @ Hyde Park a few years back. Had Gold Circle tickets, loadsa room to move/dance, great atmosphere. They also overan and didn't give a monkeys, you could see how much they were loving it too

Worst - Hmmm Live8 if you can call it a gig. Missed the begining cos of fuck-ups with security and ended up queueing for far too long. Lacked atmosphere and was totally not worth the train fare.
Sugababes @ Brighton Centre last year. Not the world's greatest venue, but they stunk. Couldn't sing for toffee. Support acts were far btter

Best - Fat Boy Slim in Brighton / Prince Sign of the Times tour (although recent Mark Ronson up there too)

Worst - Green Day in their v punk early times - some of it was good, but the venue was awful, wayyyyyyyy too loud just all static and feedback. And to make the evening even better, my then boyfriend who had spent all night in the mosh pit while I stood at the back, bought me a delightful t-shirt of someone having his teeth pulled out. Class evening all round.

Best - Richie Sambora, Shepherds Bush '98 (not sure how much was the concert or the whole day iyswim)

ooh or Manics one year at Glastonbury

Worst - Blur at Glastonbury... in their depressing slow stage (where Tender was the only decent song, and even that sounds dull now) - DH has never forgiven me... he wanted to see 3 Colours Red and I promised we would see a concert for them instead - Glastonbury was their last show (although I think they got back together recently)

Fantastic Weller gig some years back at Earls Court.

Awful Macy Gray concert at Wembley where she lay on the floor the majority of the time she was on stage but most of the time she was off having another costume change leaving her fab back up singers to do all the work.

MarsLady · 02/06/2008 23:44

actually worse than Macy Gray were the Kooks who played a church building in Islington about a year ago. Dragged there by my slattern friend. Thank God for ipods!

Have really loved Wet Wet Wet and Rod Stewart in the past. 24th May I went to see The Osmonds at the MEN arena. They were magnificent. If you are a child of the 70's you will appreciate what I am saying A fantastic night, wonderful memories, fantastic singing - and dancing!! I was 17 again for about 3 hours. Well done to the Osmonds.

Best...Fun Lovin'Crims at Glastonbury 99
Worst...went to see Nico of Velvet Underground fame, she was mullered and it was a baaaaad gig!

southeastastra · 03/06/2008 17:07

worst - beautiful south at brixton late 80s, they walked off after a few songs moaning about southerners

chocolatespiders · 03/06/2008 17:08

best - faithless at glasto 2002

worst- oasis milton keynes bowl

mumof2teenboys · 03/06/2008 17:20

best was either g'n'r at milton keynes bowl in 1994(?) or marilyn manson/metallica at reading in 2000 (ish)
worst was marilyn manson at rock city in 2000 (ish)

GustWriter · 03/06/2008 18:23

November 1989

Gary Glitter - in Liverpool

MrsJamin · 06/06/2008 09:41

Best - REM or Bjork at Hammersmith, or Sigur Ros - all spellbinding.
Worst - Incubus or Norah 'Snorah' Jones - could have left halfway through, they were soooo dull and up themselves. And Tori Amos the second time around, has to be the biggest gig disappointment.
