Online lesson - can't hear teachers piano!

Has anyone had this problem please? My son has started online piano lessons and we can't hear the teacher's piano being played. He can hear my son play. He says it's our computer with the problem as he teaches many others and they can hear his piano,

I've looked at the sound settings, ed hade Windows 10, looked online and just can't find the problem.

Please can anyone advise?

If it’s zoom or similar you need to turn on background noise.

yes but I can't figure out how! We even tried on zoom as well as their own online portal and I can't find the sound setting that is stopping us heat background noise.

I think it’s them that need to turn on background noise. For example on teams you can share all sound then someone else could hear music playing on the background. I’m pretty sure they have to do something.

When we had zoom teacher meetings after coving, we couldn't hear any of the teachers. Turns out we had to wear headphones for it to work

I asked the teacher if it's them who need to turn on background noise and he said he had been teaching online students all day with no problem and didn't mention headphones either.

Is there a particular reason to have online lessons, in person is almost always better if possible.

Definitely not liking the online lessons but that's all I could find right now. The teacher teaches my child in person but has no other space
