ABRSM music theory online results

I read that the results come out 28 days to the hour! But it's many hours later and the results still haven't come out. How long does it take at the moment?

Oh dear, I also thought it was 28 days so not sure I'm afraid - just bumping this for you. We're waiting for results too but got a couple more weeks to wait. Crazy that it takes long for an online multiple choice test!

Just a thought, did you log into yours or your child's ABRSM account? I think results go to the adult applicant before they're sent to the child's account. Good luck for when you get them anyway.

Checked both! My son has said if he doesn’t pass he won’t bother with any more exams!

No! I emailed yesterday with no reply. I tried to call but the message said to email if there are delayed results. I hope it’s not that they weren’t happy with the video. He didn’t tear the paper up in front of them. But 4 weeks is a long time to wait to hear they aren’t happy with the video!

Oh hopefully it'll be fine. I'm sure he's not the only one to forget to tear up the paper. It would be helpful if there was a reminder at the end! I'm worried about the video too as my daughter did the exam in her room and it was rather messy and cluttered in the background. I miss the old days where you could do it in a local hall and there was none of this fuss!

No, still no results. They replied to say it can be 4 weeks after marking. No idea when marking takes place, whether that means it can be 8 weeks after the exam! He either needs to start revising again whilst it’s reasonably fresh (though he said he won’t resit) or he needs to change exam board!

What!! That's ridiculous! It's a computerised test. Even 28 days is a bit excessive. How can they need longer than that?! Very odd, especially as last time she did an ABRSM practical exam the results took about 2 days!

They’ve finally come. I checked earlier today, nothing then they appeared later but I didn’t get an email. Passed by the skin of his teeth! That’s all he needs, it’s just the ticket to the grade 6 practical. He hated every minute of it!

Got them yesterday and she passed 🥳 Results were on the website at the time the exam finished. Such a relief to get it out of the way!

@hedwigsbeak could I just ask, when you say the results were on the website at the time the exam finished, do you mean that she finished the theory exam and you checked the portal immediately afterwards and the results were already there? Or do you mean that she finished the exam at, say, 4pm on the 1st of the month and then at 4pm on the 28th of the month the results were up?

Just trying to figure out when the latest is that we could do the theory exam here and still have a decent chance at there being slots available at our nearest venue (which books up fast every time) when it comes to doing the practical ...

And if anyone reading this has further data points to add - eg. it took less than 28 days to get the results - I'd be really grateful to hear. Thanks in advance 😀

@SomePigthe results were on the portal 28 days after the exam. The time of day they appeared was the same time of day the exam time limit finished - about 6pm for us. Hope you get it sorted!
