Glastonbury chat

Is anyone going to Glastonbury this year and wants to chat about line up, wardrobe, weather forecast etc?

It will be my 14th Glastonbury - I am obsessed. However as I didn't manage to get tickets in the general sale or resale this year, I've been lucky to secure a place as an Oxfam steward. I'll be onsite from Tuesday before gates open to the public on Wednesday

Wear whatever you feel comfy in - I love the opportunity to dress up in some crazy outfits but there’s certainly no pressure to do so. I’ve got a leopard print burnt soul catsuit, a Rosa bloom playsuit, silver sequinned shirt with black bodysuit and denim shorts with a sequinned top! Plus black leather boots with all the above. Jacket/hoodie/waterproof poncho as required!

I’ve started buying cans of booze, will sort the van after we’ve been camping this weekend.

JustAnotherDayWorkingAtHome · 16/06/2025 11:27

Thank you so much! Will do. Good to hear I’m not way off in terms of my clothes!

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 16/06/2025 15:20

I’ll also be 5 months pregnant this year so it will be quite a different festival to normal!

Im felling pretty under prepared this year but I’ve started ordering a few bits and pieces. I’m going to pick up some disposable wee bags this year as the baby won’t let me sleep through the night anymore!

I favour a couple of packs of travel tissues for the loo in the day- takes up less space.

Im also going for walking boots over wellies. It looks like the ground will be ok even if we get a bit of rain and they have much better support.

@welshweaselyour outfits sound great. Worried mine are a bit dull. I need to hit the charity shops this weekend and see what mad things I can find!

Oooooh have you used the wee bags before??

I am not pregnant, and will probably be on the ciders all day which usually leads to me waking up at 4am desperate for a wee. They could be a game changer...

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 16/06/2025 17:14

I haven’t- I normally don’t go to bed very early so am only asleep for a few hours before the sun drives me out of the tent. Not anticipating the same stamina this year! 😂

My weak bladdered friend swears by them though.

MakeTeaNotWar · 16/06/2025 21:27

I dress for comfort and favour walking boots over wellies. It can get bitterly cold at night so make sure you’ve got plenty of warm stuff. I have used Travel Janes and they are pretty good when needing a night wee. Just over a week to go now! I’m setting off next Tuesday morning, can’t wait

when you say bitterly cold at night do you mean when sleeping or once sun goes down? Do you add layers in evening? What about if you’ve been in shorts in day?

CrystalSingerFan · 16/06/2025 23:33

Not been for a while. Not going this year. But... really?

Planning outfits!?
Campervans!?
Motorhome?!
Clashfinder?!
"I’ve washed all the motorhome bedding …"
"this year we are glamping slightly offsite..."

I remember going for the first time before the big fence went up. We chose to camp right at the edge of the site. I got up first thing in the morning. A crusty guy with a doggie on a string asked me if I wanted some LSD. Is it still like that?

I have to say I’ve not been bitterly cold there for many years as I’m in perpetual motion until I get into my sleeping bag. However, I take a hat with me for bedtime and thick socks, just in case. It does get cooler in the evening but I’m never cold going back to my tent. I take layers out with me to try to make sure when I get into my sleeping bag I’m warm.

I used a she wee and fabric conditioner bottle about 12 or so years ago. It worked really well but not used it since.

MakeMeJuno · 17/06/2025 11:27

I really cannot recommend a big fabric conditioner bottle and a shee wee enough!

Did the crusty guy also piss on your chips?

JustAnotherDayWorkingAtHome · 18/06/2025 21:53

Bought some wellies and a whizzer

Sparticle · 27/06/2025 19:20

I hope that all of you who are there are having a great time!

I’m just watching on the tv and needed to share just how awesome Alanis Morissette is coming across. I’m so glad!

JustAnotherDayWorkingAtHome · 30/06/2025 22:18

Omg I literally had the best time. I am so gutted it’s over. It was insanely hot. Feet were fine in my trainers.

prodigy last night is probably the best live music thing I’ve ever seen in my life.

def feel I need to go back so much I don’t see or get to.

JustAnotherDayWorkingAtHome · 30/06/2025 22:19

Alanis was amazing and Nile rogers. And pulp common people was incredible.

welshweasel · 30/06/2025 22:20

Think it was my favourite one yet. Prodigy, pulp and Alanis morrisette were all peak Glasto moments for me. Lewis Capaldi, Nile Rogers, weezer, scissor sisters…so many awesome sets. Was bloody hot mind.

JustAnotherDayWorkingAtHome · 01/07/2025 06:43

Was so hot. That was prob one thing I hadn’t anticipated I’d pack for rain, cold, warm, etc but not the Sahara dessert!!!!! Had a hat which saved me and masses of sunscreen.

MakeTeaNotWar · 05/07/2025 17:56

what an amazing weekend that was! I had so much fun. And all in the glorious sunshine too
