I heard a song a little while ago but didn't catch the name/artist and can't remember the lyrics so it's a very, very long shot, I know but I really hope someone can help identify it as it was very distinctive!! Here's what I can remember:

It's a woman with a Scouse/Liverpool accent talking over a jazz beat/instrumental about all the things that she hates/doesn't like. The song is basically just her listing them.

Can't remember what she hated but think it included the Conservatives. I think the lyrics were quite political in nature and I remember thinking it was from the 80s perhaps - it didn't feel recent at all...

Anyone know the song and artist?!!! xx

Aaaarghhh yes, yes, I think I know who you mean but I've forgotten her name. There was a solo artist in the 80s who did this - sort of "voice from the street" beat poetry / spoken word lyrics over a jazz (or electronic?) background. I think she was bigged up by the music press for a while, or one of her singles was Single Of The Week (though I don't think she got in the charts).... Sorry, I'll get back to you if I remember her name!

It's strangely mesmerising, isn't it? It's been on one of my Spotify playlists for ages, probably since hearing it on R6music at some stage. Produced by the late great Andrew Weatherall.
