I'm old. What time should I show up for a concert?

I've got tickets to see Peter Gabriel in Glasgow on Thursday. The tickets say 6:30pm but what time do you think he'll start? I couldn't bear to sit and wait for hours in an arena but I don't want to miss any of his performance either.
I haven't been to a concert since alanis morissette in 2008 so I haven't a clue what happens.

1. Watch his Twitter, he might announce start time.
2. Phone the Arena, ask when they expect him to go on.

Remember you need to be in your place, if you're not standing. I've been to arena concerts and seen people (old people) turned away because they weren't seated on time. I wouldn't take any risks. Very few people nowadays think turning up at half past nine will cut it.

The local press should announce it. I find you have to be at gigs really early these days say 5.30pm or 6pm and they finish at 10.30pm because of public transport.

Brilliant. Thanks for that! In my day the doors would open at 7 but the main act wouldn't go on until 11. Even as a youngster I couldn't cope with waiting around.

Also check there isn’t a last entry time-I was stung by this at a festival!!

I usually google Peter Gabriel stage time and you can usually find details either of when he starts, or the length of the set. Assuming a curfew of 10.30 or 11 you can more or less work it out.
