Songs you would never have known existed

My DS has started playing bass guitar recently and DH played him Orion by Metallica to show him a solo bass piece.
I wouldn't be a lover of metal, but I honestly felt like the song was genius. A piece of art and up there with famous classical pieces of music.

It got me thinking that if I hadn't overheard DH and DS I wouldn't probably have never heard the song in my life. I've never heard it on the radio, for example. But I just love it. It sounds so OTT but the song changed my life.

Have you any other songs that you came across by accident that you might never have heard otherwise?

Another two for me are Music Box Dancer by Frank Mills. And Adele singing Baby it's you with Burt Bacharach.

There's probably 1000s of songs I've come across by chance. For example if I hadn't been driving across Hungary I wouldn't have heard Changes by Faul and Wad, even though it was popular in Europe. I wouldn't have come across Hearbreaker by North East Party House if I wasn't in a certain pub in Hobart. I would never have come across Letting you in by Mid Abry if I hadnt been on the Ocean Road. It just so happened that I was there at the time, heard a song that caught my imagination and I've added to my play list. There's probably just as many, if not more songs that I've.mentally thrown away because theyve not been my taste.
By the way as a metal fan ( although you wouldnt have guessed it with the examples Ive put forward) Metallica are a a amazing band, especially live, and Orion is fabulous track.
