Hello,
My DD wants to take up the electric guitar. What would be a good starter guitar that's not extortionately priced.
Thanks in advance!

DS bought a Squier starter pack that came with a small amp and everything you need for beginners for under £200. IIRC they’re made by fender.

Can’t go wrong with a Yamaha Pacifica in my opinion as a starter. Good bang for your buck and a great all rounder, they haven’t compromised too much on any major components to keep the cost down. That and I’d pick up a little Rowland or Orange practice amp on gumtree and he’s good to go.

I've used Gear4Music, for years (DS ranging from 13-30!)

They're very knowledgeable, and I've never felt I've been patronise or pushed towards a more expansive option - the opposite, in fact.

I've not bought that particular 'starter kit', as current learner plays an electric-acoustic.
