Just as the subject says really. I've had the song "He's My Boy" from "Everybody's Talking about Jamie" stuck in my head for the last couple of days. I'm now listening to different soundtracks trying to get it out of my head...just waiting for another song for my braincells to catch on!

Rentaghost theme tune 🤷‍♀️

Probably doesn't help that I know most of the lyrics so it keeps going round in there

Lucy Spraggon - Balance.

Heard her sing this on the one show last night and it’s such a beautiful song! Not my usual taste but love it and I’ve been singing it since

A song called Galactic Mermaid by The Mermaid Sisters. It was on an anime that DC (14) was watching.

It's really summed up how I've felt about a lot of things recently. Only listen to it if you don't have young kids nearby though. I don't think there's a single non swear word in it. 🤣

Aeroplane by Tim Minchin.

Thank you. I came on to sadly confess it was ‘Hit me baby, one more time’ by Britney. And just as I started to type, I saw your post directly above and am now singing ‘Bad’ by U2. So you’ve saved me.

TheCallOfTheMild · 01/01/2023 22:47

Now That We've Found Love by Third World. Heard it in a record shop today and it's been in my head ever since.

One way or another...

Something’s changed by Pulp. There was a thread about pulp sings a few weeks ago so I played a few of them. Some I knew but not by the title but not that one. It’s such a lovely song

The performance at Live Aid was phenomenal, when Bono disappears into the crowd and the band just has to keep on playing whilst looking at each other and thinking ‘what do we do now?!’ I’m sure you already know, but at the time, Bono thought he’d blown it because they didn’t get to play Pride as a result, and it was probably going to split up U2. As you say, brilliant song. Up yours, Britney!

Yellow Leadbetter by Pearl Jam.
It soothes and comforts me.

Its possibly my most favourite calm song.

Oh, I used to LOVE that, and I'd forgotten all about it till I read this!

I've got Together Forever by Rick Astley at the minute, no idea why.

Unforgettablefire · 02/01/2023 09:03

@DomesticShortHair yep, apparently the girl he pulled out and danced with was getting squashed in the crowd. There's another good performance of bad when they did the JT 2 tour he brings in heroes by David Bowie. Have a look on YouTube for miss Sarajevo in Milan, Bono singing Pavarotti's opera lines will blow you away.
Been a huge fan for about 40 years, I met the edge once in Dublin what a gentleman he is.

I’ll check it out, thanks. My grandad served with Adam Clayton’s dad whilst in the RAF, apparently. To this day, I have no idea how that cropped up in conversation. I first saw U2 at Elland Road in 1987.

I used to work with someone who had seen them supporting The Stranglers (we were both Stranglers fans) back in 1978. He wasn’t that impressed at the time, apparently. Mind you, his girlfriend claimed to have seen U2 when they were still The Hype, and that she was one of the 9 who saw them at The Hope & Anchor on their first UK gig. She said she was friends with Paul McGuinness at the time. I didn’t believe her on all counts.
