Otherworldly 'music of the spheres'

I went to a museum exhibit the other day where there was a room with wonderful otherworldly lighting (think night sky but better) and soft synthesiser music. Sound design was by Gareth Fry. I just didn't want to leave. I wish I could surround myself with that kind of sound at home. Does anyone know what I mean and have any suggestions?

Interesting question @deeplyambivalent - I didn't go to the exhibition you mentioned but the way you describe it made me think of Brian Eno's ambient music. Maybe have a listen to something like his album Lux? It's online if you google it.

Oh great! Thanks so much, I'll have a listen. I've found something fairly tranquil and spacey among the various calming sleep tracks on Sonos, but it's not really the same.

Hope you like it! He's the real ambient music king, I still really love his Music for Airports even though it's an oldie-but-goodie now. Actually Lux was first made as a sound installation for a gallery too, iirc. I'd be interested to hear what you think.

Oh yeah, just sampled a bit on Spotify and you're bang on, @Octothorpe, that's exactly what I had in mind.

Oh, that's good to hear, @deeplyambivalent Smile

There's Jean-Michel Jarre too. He played a concert at Wembley in the 90's and you could hear it for miles around Grin

Brian Eno's An Ending (Ascent) is a particularly nice track that has that otherworldly vibe.

Sigur Ros is my otherworldly go-to.

Play their album Takk all the way through. Just gorgeous.

Theme from 'Starman' might be a bit too tuneful but is also 'otherworldly'
