I heard a bit of a song on the radio yesterday and now it's sort of stuck in my head and driving me mad.

It's a female singer and probably from the sixties. I only heard a snatch of it and can't remember any words but it was sung to quite a famous tune. I'm no good with music but at a guess I'd say its Bach. I learned the piano for a couple of years when I was small. I'm now over 50 so it's a long time ago but I have a vaguest memory of learning the piece and in my mind I can see my right hand playing D G A B C# D G G
Does that make any sense at all? Possibly not those exact notes but the same thing in a different key.
Any idea of the original piece and of the pop song based on it?

@EmmaGrundyForPM

Hahaha no but my mum had this song when I was about 9 or 10 and played all the time!

Then I went to Grammar School age 11 and started playing the Cello and Minuet in G minor by Bach was one of the pieces of music that we played in music practice!! It took a while to work out the connection between the 2!! Grin

It’s a classic record.

Glad to hear other people like it.

I think you are definitely some sort of genius for managing to work it out from my garbled post!
