Full size violin - Gliga Gama or?

DD(11) needs a full size violin. She is in grade 5 now and has a Gliga Genial 3/4. I’m thinking of getting her Gama 4/4.
Please can I ask for opinions on this? Relevant advice is welcome!

When DS needed a new violin we just went to (too many) violin shops and luthiers and tried (too many) violins until he found one he liked. Grin

Sorry I don't know anything about Gilga violins...

What does her teacher suggest? Can you try a few different ones around your budget. Is this a violin just for a few years or forever ( not that you can predict) For example, my DD has an oboe which should get her to around grade 8, it was second hand so a good deal. If she gets to that stage, she can decide to stick with it as it is perfectly decent, or it will become obvious that she had out grown the sound, maybe if she goes to music college. For me, second hand usually gets you a better deal but you need to be confident in the advice you get. PS I know nothing about violins but I bought an old double bass from eBay ( I did see it in person!) and still love it.

DDs aunt has kindly lent her a lovely full size violin! Thanks all.
