I am so old and confused!

We have an old-school hifi separates set up in our living room on which we play cds. We have not bought any new ones for years and don't intend to. So for anything newer I have a Sonos speaker in my kitchen which I use with Amazon Music and DH listens to stuff on Youtube (free version) via his pc. For Christmas we bought the 13 and 10 yo DSs a Google Home speaker each and I want to have a more cohesive approach. I'm planning to get rid of Amazon Prime anyway and am wondering if Spotify is the way to go? Was also wondering about Youtube Music.

Does anyone use Google Play Music?

I used to use Amazon with Sonos, tried Google play for other things but didn't like it.
Settled on Spotify. It's so much better, and works a lot better with sonos now too (it used to be horrible)

IWantMyHatBack thanks for that. What didn't you like about Google Play Music? They are including YouTube Premium for free so I was thinking that might be a good solution for us

Spotify family plan. £14.99 per month.
Best selection of music! It’s been flawless for me. I like really obscure musicians and I’m always amazed to find them all waiting for me on Spotify. And I can listen to music on Alexa while cooking in the kitchen while DS listens to his music on his computer. DH can listen to his music on his phone, all of us sharing one account. It’s a bit of a process setting up family sharing but it’s not difficult.
