My friend Joanne and I were discussing YouTube videos and we were both aware that there was a severe lack of safe children's content on the platform. We felt that we could create something that children would love and learn from. I'm a longtime songwriter, musician and parent myself and so it was a natural development to get this out. We created EY UP DUCK!
We came up with a concept of simple, colourful animation teamed up with catchy songs. Something eye catching and unique. It needed to have a message that would be useful for young children. As we both work in schools, we see the day to day problems that some children face, such as knowing when they need to go to the toilet!
We trialled the cartoons on a small number of young children between the ages of 2 and 9 and found that they really enjoyed them. This spurred us on to make a further 8 episodes and release them before the Christmas holidays on 22nd December.
We’ve both worked really hard on this and want it to reach as many children (and parents) as possible so please subscribe, share and spread the parental word for the release date!
