By choral, do you mean sung by a choir? Or will arias & cantatas do?

I guess it depends on what you consider beautiful!

Or on s different tangent;

CoteDAzur · 15/10/2017 22:26

There are some names in that list that make stuff I wouldn't even call music, let alone consider beautiful music Grin but I accept that we are all different, with different tastes.

Objectively though, that "harpsichord concerto" by Falla is a proper tragedy, and I say that as a harpsichord player. You don't bang chords on the harpsichord Sad It's played more like a mandolin than a piano.

TheMaestro · 15/10/2017 23:18

Probably just as well I didn't put the on the list then...

PenguinRoar · 15/10/2017 23:25

Nils Frahm
Olafur Arnalds
Second Max Richter! Sleep or The Blue Notebook

Chilver · 15/10/2017 23:27

Some off the top of my head

Choral:
Poulenc 'Stabat Mater'
Samuel Barber 'Adagio for Strings' then 'Agnus Dei'
Morten Lauridsen 'O Magnum Mysterium'

Tallis
Byrd
Sheppard

Piano:
Rachmaninoff Concerto No2
Lizst
Chopin

Opera:
Puccini's La Boheme

Violin:
Bruch
