Finding a piano teacher for an adult beginner

We have just bought a weighted keyboard (being delivered today) for my son, who started piano lessons last week. I'm also planning on learning how to play but am a bit baffled as to how to find a teacher.

Ideally, I want someone who can come to the house during school hours. I've been forwarded a link to a network of piano teachers by my son's teacher, had a look on Gumtree and had a look at the notices on Next Door.

If you have found a piano teacher, how did you find them?

If you buy suitable tutor-books you should be able to teach yourself, at least to get you started. Have you played any instruments before?

Hi Ferguson

I used to play the trumpet (and taught myself a couple of versions of the recorder) but that was a long time ago.

I have bought some of the books and have been enjoying getting to grips with a few of the songs in there.

I have found a teacher - a Canadian guy who lives in my area and teaches in one of the schools.
