Just drawing your attention to a great music opportunities for Scottish-based kids during the easter holidays organised by the Edinburgh Youth Gaitherin...

EASTER GAITHERIN

EYG's flagship event for 9 - 18 year olds. A fantastic week of traditional music and arts workshops with some of the best tutors from Scotland and beyond! Come to improve your current instrument or try a new one, play with others, make new friends and have fun. Beginners welcome!

When: Monday 13th - Thursday 16th April 2015, 9:30am - 3:45pm.

Where: Tynecastle High School, Edinburgh.

Workshops include: Mixed Instrument, Fiddle, Guitar, Keyboard, Accordion, Pipes, Whistle, Step Dance, Singing, Drama, Composition, Song-writing, Playing for Dancing, Intro to Trad...

Tutors include: Adam Sutherland, Morag Brown, Daniel Thorpe, Amy Geddes, Siobhan Miller, Tom Oakes, Mairearad Green, Anna Massie and Strange Town (Youth Theatre).

PLUS Best of Trad showcase concert on Tuesday 14th and participants' Big Bash concert and cèilidh on Thursday 16th, both at the Church Hill Theatre.

Cost: £100 (£80 for additional family members) Concessions available.

Each booking includes one FREE ticket to the tutors' Best of Trad showcase concert.

We are also recruiting VOLUNTEERS aged 16+ to help out during the event. This is a great opportunity for young musicians to gain experience working with young people and shadowing main tutors
