Anyone going to Buzzcocks at Brixton Academy in May?

I am beyond excited as they will be doing the Spiral Scratch EP with Sir Howard of Devoto swoons

No but I wish I was!! I saw them in 1979 supporting Joy Division and it was up there with one of the best concerts of my life. Everyone was spitting and Pete Shelley said in his really camp voice "Don't spit, it's filthy!" Also loved Magazine... drifts into nostalgia trip..

I didn't see them back then but I always loved them, Magazine are my favourite band and I saw them last December, Howard reminded me of Harry from SATC. I've just got PIL tickets for August too.

Oh. grew up with the Buzzcocks in M/c 1970's - saw them a few times, once with "Shot by both sides" Devoto!! Did a reunion in 1980's all wearing white suits! Ha!

I did see the Buzzcocks at their 30th anniversary gig at the Ritz in manchester- it was really good. The band still man the merchandise stall- gotta love them for that.
I saw Magazine at the academy in Manchester a couple of years ago too. i don't really know much of their stuff but Shot from both Sides went down well.
I also saw PIL there too around the same time. John lydon has an amazing presence- the way he tackled hecklers was awe-inspiring (who would even try to heckle John Lydon?) we have tickets to Rebellion the punk festival in Blackpool in August, PIL are headling on the Saturday night- DD15 is coming with us again. Should be good

I'd love to go to Rebellion but one of my DS's is still quite small (even though I am old ) and DP wasn't ever really into punk so he wouldn't go. I know a few people who are going though and I know someone who is playing this year. One of my friends has taken his kids to gigs and festivals since they were small and loads of bands know them, they were at Magazine right down the front with us! I am really excited about PIL as I never thought I'd get to see John Lydon play in the flesh, I was a bit too young for the Pistols and started going to gigs just after they fell apart. They played Heaven last week and according to reports were excellent.

I'll be seeing them in the summer when they headline at a small local festival, quite the coup booking them for such a small place!!

I've just seen that they are in Manchester on the 25th. I get my new rota soon so I'll see if I'm off.
