Family fund

I recently applied for family fund. I had one two years ago. Which I was awarded what I asked for. This week I applied again and was awarded again but at a much smaller amount yet I asked for the same as what I previously asked for two years ago. Also when I applied it was in the late evening and I was sent a gift card early the next morning but it felt like my claim wasn't looked at just awarded and a random amount given. I just wondering if anyone else has had the same experience? Or if anyone know if they just give you a random amount each time you apply?

Its not random amounts its for whatever you asked for, end of rhe day they are a charity struggling for funds and have to fund thousands of families. You should be greatful they helped.
last year they closed early before the tax year as they ran out of funding.
What did you ask for?

First grants are often for a larger amount than subsequent grants. First applications (mostly) take longer to approve than subsequent applications. Demand is higher and finances are tighter than 2 years ago.

Il very grateful. I never won't be. I was only asking as Im in a group of mums who use family grant and they had all given me different information. I know that more and more people apply each year and times are getting harder. I was only asking due to the amount I was awarded two years ago was completely different this time around and I was given it over night. So I want to see if anyone else had the same experience and if it was just a computer just allocating different amounts.

Thank you. I thought as much but im had people telling me different stories. So I just wanted to see if anyone had had a similar experience.

Depends what you ask for, a bed would be something like £400 argos voucher but clothes would be £100 voucher. It does vary, its all done by people who work there not by a computer.

I did ask for a bed and was given £150. But two years ago I apply for a bed and for £500. So that's why I was confused and I was also given only 60 days to spend the voucher. So I now need to find a way to make it work.
