News about changes to benefits making me unwell

I am very physically and mentally unwell with the possibility of losing my benefits and what it might mean for me. It’d flared up my pain. I now need to take a daily hot bath as opposed to once or twice a week. It’s like a massive bomb shell has been dropped on my life and it’s really effecting me.
I need reassurances that they can’t/wont do this to benefits

I don’t think anyone here can re assure you op I’m sorry.
I think everyone’s just waiting to hear what the hell will happen next.

I would stay away from the news and social media. The changes will not be happening for some time and may not even affect you. There is no point worrying unnecessarily. The government have said the most severely disabled will be protected.

I’m so sorry. I’ve noticed my anxiety is much higher and that’s a worry as my psychologist says I’m the worst person she’s ever seen for anxiety! It’s been a horrible week with it all being discussed and seeing people’s views of those with illnesses too.
I hope things settle a little for you. Keep all evidence of your illness ready for your next PIP renewal x

I would advise keeping of forums like this, for a start. Reading some of the threads are not going to do you any favours.

if your psychologist actually said that then I highly advise you get a new psychologist that is not something the psychologist should be saying to a patient they are there to support you not to judge you and not to paint you in a certain way, this is not the goal of therapy!!They can phrase it like “ yes you have severe anxiety” but they cannot and should not tell you that you have the worst anxiety they have ever seen…

Thanks but I’ll stick with them! It’s taken 5 years to get therapy x
