I'm starting to worry.

My son is almost 17 month old and doesn't seem to do anything he should be doing by now we're in the process of having him diagnosed with epileptic spasms which is a form of epilepsy. I have an 8 year old daughter who doesn't have any disabilities and she was leaps and bounds faster. Everyone tells me not to worry as boys are just slower but he can't walk properly not in his shoes (we bought him crocks because we thought it would be easier) he's not on solids and prefers a bottle to any form of food. He chokes and throws up alot, I worry so much that he'll never catch up I try to encourage him but he's never interested. He doesn't babble doesn't seem to understand anything and he hasn't slept through the night since he was born. He wakes up every couple of hours, being in his cot for 3 hours is honestly considered a win. I feel like we aren't doing enough to get him where he needs to be and not knowing what he's fully capable of is crushing me. I just really wanted to vent and see if anybody is having similar issues, any advice is very appreciated thank you for reading

Don't worry about the sleep, that is not a milestone and has nothing to do with intelligence. My very clever 16 year old DD slept terribly as a baby, and I knew a few other who where the same. So I would try not to worry to much about that one.

I'm assuming if he's being diagnosed with epilepsy, then it's probably causing other problems. Maybe it's more important right now to concentrate on that right now, and try and get support for his medical needs.

Seems like you need a pediatric consult. Is he on medication that could be affecting his development?
