Applied for PIP - decision with a manager??

Hi all,

I applied for PIP on Oct 2023 after being really poorly for 18months now diagnosed with a few different conditions that really affect my life.
Anyway, called up today to chase my decision as assessment was at end of December.
Lady on the phone said ‘decision has been made but just waiting for a manager to approve it’
does anyone know what this could mean in terms of the outcome?
would a manager need to approve it if it was declined?
I sent over 40 pages of my drs letters, blood test results, emails to & from my drs etc.
just really fed up of the waiting now and really dreading having to do a mandatory reconsideration!

Thank you

See if you can contact someone for clarification of what the comment means.
Any complaints line?

Have you had your interview?

Sorry can see assessment was end of December.
I've no idea sorry.
I'd ring again.. you might get someone else who could tell you.

Sometimes if a decision maker is quite new to the role, it can go to a manager to approve the decision.

It's hard to know whether that means you've been awarded or not, but I hope so. Either way, the decision is imminent. The timescales are supposed to be around 12 weeks (or were when I asked) but seem to be taking slightly longer.

I applied 5 Oct, had my tel assessment early December and had my decision on 6 January. Mine was a change of circumstances though, which are supposed to be taking slightly longer.

Thank you! Lines are now closed until Monday so I guess I’ll just wait until Monday afternoon and give them another call to see if a decision has been made yet. It’s so long winded. I’ve never applied for anything like this before. Makes me sad, I’m only recently classed as disabled and the hoops you have to go through for any help is like nothing I’ve ever known! I feel sorry for those in a worse place than I am.
