DLA form

Hello I was wondering if anyone could help me.
2 weeks ago I sent my sons DLA form in an A4 envelope with the Freepost address provided on the website and form. I had a lot of evidence so I could not fit it in a small envelope. I asked the post office if I could send it recorded delivery however they said it was not possible as the Freepost address did not have a postcode.
I asked if it would still be sent as it was in a large envelope and the post office said ‘it should’ which you can imagine wasn’t very reassuring.
It’s been two weeks today and I haven’t received any confirmation that they have received it and I am very concerned that it would not be sent due to envelope size and Freepost address.
Has anyone else sent there form like this and has it arrived safely?
Thank you

They take weeks to respond, I'd give it 6 weeks and then phone them to check.

You can ring and ask if they’ve received it. For future reference you absolutely can send them recorded delivery. I’m in a dla group on Facebook with 100k members (have a search for dla in groups) and most people send their forms recorded.

I thought that was the case but the post office were adamant that I couldn’t. I felt very uncomfortable leaving it with them without any confirmation. All I wanted was confirmation that the free post postage was appropriate for the size envelope but they couldn’t even answer that for me.
I’m at work during their call opening hours until Friday so I will have to keep my anxiety in check until I can ring then.
Thank you for the reply.

You can send it recorded but you need to send it to the Wolverhampton address rather than the free post address. It's very frustrating I agree. Particularly as different Post Offices seem to have different views as to whether it can be done or not...
