PIP Telephone Assessment

Hello, my next door neighbour has a phone assessment for PIP and is terrified of the process due to her anxiety. If anyone has been through a phone assessment, can you please share your experience / the type of questions DWP will ask for? Neighbour has lupus and fibromyalgia but feels this is not a visible disability so will be hard to prove. Should she ask for a face to face appointment instead? Thank you

But I’m not sure if this message means I’ve got the award or need to be assessed again!

Most of them tend to come across as nice. i've only known one not so nice one in all the assessments I have sat in on to support people. Good luck.

Had my phone assessment last week and she was very nice. Sent my renewal in over a year ago. No idea how long it takes to get the report now. Am only on low rate mobility and worried they will stop this. Am worse than I was but with all the questions worrying they'll decide I'm ok

Your friend can have a friend there for support when they ring, someone who knows her and her disability and how it affects her, they just need permission to ask some questions but she will have to answer some he self. I used to work at cab, i helped get many people dla and pip who had invisible illnesses

I'm not sure if someone's already mentioned it but it may be worth recording the phone call and letting the assessor know - that way you can prove what was said by both parties if the case needs to go to an appeal panel.

Those that had a telephone assessment coming up, how did they go?
I’ve got mine this week and am so nervous already. This is my first time applying for pip and I feel sick just thinking about the phone call.
