So what’s your hoover of choice?
What about an electric mop?

I need anything that takes the weight and effort out of hoovering and mopping…

I’m not managing with my existing able-bodied equipment… it’s too heavy and too much hard work…

Would welcome any advice please 🙂

I don't have CFS but I do have disabilities that impact my ability to lug about heavy equipment and mean I tire easily.

I have a cordless hoover. I fact. I have two. One for upstairs and one for downstairs. One is a hoover brand and one is a dyson.

I have a lightweight steam mop for mopping it is a morphy richards.

Robovac! Does it for you. I have a Eufy and it's amazing for giving a general daily clean. I have a little hand held Shark to do corners of rooms, cobwebs etc which is nice and light but the Eufy is the real hero because it goes daily and means I know if people come round the place is in generally good shape without me having to hoover every day (I have a dog).
I don't mop, except for very rarely.
I bought a steam cleaner for the bathroom but tbh I find that more hassle than its worth.

I have EDS and fibromyalgia I have a vax pet blade 2 the best hoover I've found to date! It's light weight, easy to get up the stairs as it comes apart into a handheld if needed.

Mop I use a spin mop. It's effortless, just have to tap the step thing to get rid of the excessive water. I didn't like a electric mop I found it quite bulky and heavy (and they leak!)

felulageller · 18/09/2022 08:34

I can't hoover/mop.

I use eufy daily.

If there's urgent mess on the kitchen floor I put down a wipe and rub it with my foot.

I'm so tempted with a robot hoover.

@Keladrythesaviour - Any particular shark…?

@GoneWithTheWine1 - a spin mop sounds great! Would you be able to recommend the brand you are using?

Do it! It was life changing for me. I do have or rescue him regularly but that's because I have a few areas with collections of wires or the dog will leave a toy somewhere. But apart from that it's absolutely fab.

It's only got a ten minute battery but it's fine for corners, cobwebs and stairs, or the car. And I can't do more then ten minutes anway, so it's no bother to pop it back on charge.
It's very light, and the three heads are very easy to interchange. My last hoover was like a wrestling match to change nozzle and would leave me exhausted, so I was very pleased the Shark was easier to do.

www.vileda.co.uk/mops/spinmops/turbo-spin-mop-bucket-set2 this one :) but it's cheaper in tescos if you have a Clubcard I paid £19 for mine a few weeks ago.
I originally had a flash speed mop and it was rubbish!

Itsanothergrunt · 18/09/2022 08:48

I have the shark hair wrap one (and also 3 well trained teens!)
On a good day I can even do the stairs because it comes to bits.
I use an old fashioned mop and bucket as find this a lot lighter (I can control how much water I put in the bucket).

riotlady · 18/09/2022 08:49

Cordless shark here, I think it’s the pet hair one? But it’s much easier for me to slowly pootle about with than my old hoover

I also have a massively extendable feather duster for reaching things with minimal effort

Robovac. Absolute life saver. I haven’t hoovered properly in a long time unfortunately x
