Hi
I'm new here and wondering if anyone can shed some light. My SN health visitor nurse and paediatrician all recently told me to put in a claim for ds who's 2 and half now due to his autism (not confirmed as of yet but paediatrics have said he is evidently on the spectrum) We last seen the paediatrics in June where they detailed GDD hyper mobility delayed communication etc it's been now nearly 8 weeks since dla have received my claim and still not been seen? He's currently on a 12-14 month waitlist for the social communication pathwayShockunder SALT and starts nursery September we have a meeting next week to discuss his needs and will have a 1:1 and an external special needs team involved.
I'm getting abit anxious as we've not heard anything yet and wether he will be awarded due to his age has anyone else experienced this?
Many thanks
Amy

I wouldn't worry, DLA applications are taking a long time at the moment. If you are concerned you can give them a ring. It is possible for the care element of DLA to be awarded at DS's age. High rate mobility isn't given until 3 and low rate mobility not until 5.
