Where to go for private ADHD assessment?

Hi, does anyone have any experience of Psychiatry U.K. for an ADHD assessment? I’m looking to do the assessment remotely due to Covid/travel issues, if anyone has any recommendations and cost details it would be appreciated. Thanks.

My diagnosis was through them (although was referred via NHS Right to Choose so it was free - would recommend trying that first to save you the money, it takes the same amount of time bar the GP appointment to ask).

I found them brilliant - really thoughtful assessment, excellent nurses who were always available for questions about weird side effects etc during my medication titration period, and completely seamless transition to shared care with my GP after.

If paying privately...

All in for assessment and titration (assuming you want medication, of course) I think you'd be looking at just under £1k - it's £360ish for the assessment, then I think £100 or so a month during the titration period, plus the cost of your medication (which really varies between £30 a month to £140) then a follow up appointment at about £100.

But it depends how long it takes to get your prescription right for you, and also how long it takes to get your GP to agree to shared care once it's right - if it's a hassle (which I believe it can be) and you're paying privately, you'll have to continue paying privately for the prescription until your GP agrees.

Thank you for your replies. That’s really helpful and good to know people have had positive experiences.
I wasn’t going to go via my GP if wait times were longer, as the £360 didn’t seem unreasonable. However the cost of drugs and titration could be ongoing so I guess I should ask my GP first and see where I go from there.
Thanks for your help.
