Council safety regulations, just m made my flat very difficult

A new front door and lock was put on my flight today, I have very little upper body strength and I am barely able to open my front door. Is there any thing I can do? I live alone and this is going to be a very big problem. I asked if the door will gradually be easier to open and was told it will be after a while but for the meantime I am really struggling

Not sure tbh, I would suggest CAB might be a good place to ask. Or a google search of disability adjustments? If your struggle is because of a physical disability they may have to legally adjust for you.
