I didn't know where to post as I don't consider myself SN but there didn't seem to be a relevant sub heading for this. Maybe Health, but I didn't see it?

Anyway, I don't remember having this when I was younger but noticed recently that I'm often not making any sence at all! What I think and what comes out of my mouth are different. It's strange. In fact it's usually the opposite.
From what people say, I think the other way round too. It's hard to explain.
Examples are, yesterday I banged the door on my fingers but shouted 'arghh my toes'. It sounds hilarious but I do it all the time.
It is getting more frequent unless I'm just more aware of it.
I do it more when there is lots going on.
I have alwyas had slow processing. I called it delayed hearing when I was really young because I didn't know what it was. My husband has embarrassed me in fromt of others by saying I was ignoring them but it hadn't 'come through' quick enough for the speed of the conversation and I was in a busy place.
I've always had that but saying the opposite to what I mean feels new and I'm 41.
My husbad has noticed too. He says it could be verbal dyslexia. Why now all of a sudden? It's scary.

I read the Aspie blog of someone else like this - that was potentially a perimenopause thing. Don't know if NTs experience it too. I come out with utter crap at times - not when I'm having a proper conversation, just other me times. Sometimes they're real words in the wrong situations, other times they're gibberish. Could be perimenopause with me, no idea. Haven't thought about it. I'm a similar age to you though. I just figure it's part of being me :)
