ADHD

May I ask how usual is it to find that parents with ADHD have children with the same? Or is it common for an adult to realise they have ADHD after their DC is diagnosed ? Lastly how likely is a diagnosis of ADHD when the hyperactivity part of it is not very prevalent?

No not a journalist Grin sorry for delay in getting back to thread. Myself and two of my DC have a 'thing' not sure if it fits in to a box that'd give a diagnosis. One DC has been through CAMHS and come out the other side none the wiser. The other had a diagnosis of verbal dyspraxia as that couldn't be denied but there was/is more to it, he is adult now. I have always had difficulties but I hide them well ( memory, organisation, social difficulties etc) I have only just started to think along the lines of ADHD though.

Thank you Flowersyes I'll have a look. Also I'm going to read up as I need to be able to help both me and my DC's negotiate life with more confidence than we've been able to muster to date.
