Asd assessment in adults

Hi all,

My therapist is suggesting I get assessed for ASD (I'm 24). All we've discussed makes perfect sense, and even without going to the doc I feel relief and explanation. Can anyone give me an idea of the process? I've looked at the website but it also feels a bit overwhelming right now (shocking, I know). Or any links to more reding?
