We at MNHQ want to find out more about what mothers think about breastfeeding and formula feeding, about their experiences of getting breastfeeding started (or not), about what support they did (or did not) receive, about what worked well for them, and about where they could have done with more help.

This survey isn’t about finding out whether anyone could have ‘tried harder’; we think parents are best placed to decide what sort of infant feeding works best for their families. We want to know whether mothers are getting the right support at the right time, find out what kind of support might make a difference, and get more insight into why - according to Public Health England - breastfeeding rates drop so dramatically within six weeks of birth.

This survey is fairly long - it will probably take 10-15 minutes to complete it - so please grab a cuppa.

This survey is open to all mothers in the UK with at least one child under the age of 5. If you have more than one child under five, please answer with your oldest child in mind, or for the child with whom you had the most difficult feeding experience (if applicable).

Add your details at the end and you will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will get a £50 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks

I'm getting stuck on question 1 - I have 3 children. Eldest is almost 6, so can't do the survey about him. But he was also my most difficult breastfeeding experience out of my 3 DC.

DC2 - now almost 4, so the one I should be doing the survey for - is therefore neither my oldest child or my most difficult breastfeeding experience.

Or are we to assume that "oldest child" means oldest child under the age of 5, regardless of whether they're the actual oldest child?
