MNHQ is seeking Mumsnetters' views on a possible campaign. It's a one-question survey, although there is some background for you to read if you're not familiar with the issue being discussed.

The survey is open to all Mumsnet users.

Here's the link: www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/HGSXWMD

thanks

Curious... Will anything be 'done' with the demographic info. What if, say all England, Scotland, Wales respondents give one answer, but all NI say the opposite?

Happy New Year all

Sorry about the demographics questions - they're helpful for us (e.g. they will help us to answer TeaPleaseLouise's questions!) but you're right that they mean it's more than one question.

Tea the previous survey had 42 respondents from NI (out of nearly 1200). As a rule we look for a strong consensus across all types of Mumsnet users when thinking about a campaign - if we don't have that then the campaign is likely to be unsuccessful anyway, because the active support and involvement of MNers is key.

(Also, just wanted to clear up that the previous proposition was never about paying for travel and accommodation - it was always purely about paying the cost of the healthcare procedures.)

This survey is still running - as ever any decision will be based on the strength of the support. Responding to the surveys and commenting on discussions like this one are invaluable for us as feedback, so thank you.

I suspect there is a huge lack of awareness on this issue. I had no idea that women in NI didn't have the same access to abortion as in the rest of the UK.

TeaPleaseLouise - thank you for the information about the Petition of Concern. It must be very difficult for any laws to be passed in the Assembly. Would raising awareness be helpful do you think?
It's very easy for those of us who live in a non-partisan area to say that access to abortion should be equal across the UK but we have little idea of the reality on the ground.
